The Day of the Dead (El Día de los Muertos in Spanish) is a Mexican and Mexican-American celebration of dead ancestors which occurs on November 1 and November 2, coinciding with the similar Christian celebrations of All Saints Day and All Souls Day.  Children produced their shrines using shoe boxes and mod roc and then painted and decorated them however they wanted.  Battery operated night lights were added to give it a warming glow.  Polymer clay pendants can also be made with stunning results.
